Weekday Recap
On Thursday Valentina had a Little Gym poem gym session and a play date with the Thompsons. She also enjoyed giving A TON of love to Akira.
On Friday she was the only kid to show up for Little Gym so she got Ms. Ashley all to herself. They did barrel rolls, explored and danced throughout class. I think she most enjoyed ball and bubble time all to herself.

White House Picnic
Today we had the honor of attending the Congressional White House Picnic. Walking into the White House gates is always an incredible reminder of the great journey I have had the privilege of being a part of. If someone would have told me as a kid that I would meet the President I'd tell them they were nuts. After tonight my daughter will always know she met the President and hopefully that picture will remind her to dream big.

Apples! Apples! Apples!
If there is one thing I love about living in DC (okay there are many things I love) it is the availability of really delicious apples. I never knew there were so many varieties of apples and since many are grown locally they are very affordable.
Sunday was one of the most beautiful days of the year. The weather was perfect and we wanted an outdoor activity, so we went apple picking. We met the Thompsons at a farm an hour away and got a bag of apples each for the bargain price of $12. We also picked a pint of raspberries which Valentina loved. If we would've let her she would've eaten the whole pint before we paid for it. We had so much fun, but I know I could never be a farmworker. It was a good reminder of the difficult jobs they do so we have food at our table.
