Mover and Shaker

We have purchased the pieces needed for the stair gate and will be installing it ASAP because this happened today.

Later in the afternoon she was followed by a reusable bag.

Someone said this weekend she's mobile enough to start getting herself into trouble. That is very true!

Adrian and Valentina went to get some more instruments to add to their collection and jammed out after dinner.

Soccer and BBQ Sunday

Valentina has futbol fever and refused to take a nap during the Mexico game. After we realized the crying wasn't going to stop we let her watch the game with us.

El Tri got oh so close and were cheated. We'll be cheering for Team USA and hoping for better referees.

In the afternoon we enjoyed a bbq with my coworkers. Valentina enjoyed the attention and loved playing with "her little pony" Chevy. She was such a tease. She would show him food in her right hand, he'd smell, then she would switch the snack to her left hand and show Chevy her open right hand. He'd get so excited and then realized there was nothing in her hand. Valentina would giggle. She did this a few times. Chevy is such a good dog and would play along with her silly game.

Saturday Swim Day

On Saturday we had swim class where once again Valentina mastered the lesson. She was asked to hold on to the wall (with parental assistance), put a part of her face in (she put her whole face in) and go through a hula hoop. The instructor said if she was older she'd be ready for the next class. We have a little fish.

In the evening we had a second dosage of pool time at the Kormans. We enjoyed the pool, had a bbq and finished with a Harrison and Valentina jam session.

Congresswoman Tamez

Adrian had a therapy appointment this morning and Congress was out of session, so I took Valentina to her Little Gym Class.  We sang, rolled, walked and crawled all over the gym and finished it off with some bubble time.

After class Daddy told us he was done and joined us on our lunch date to my office.  She enjoyed visiting entertaining my colleagues and wanted to make sure her abuelos, grandparents and various family members of Texas District 15 knew the office is full of great, hardworking staff.  Perhaps she'll have a future in politics.

Valentina woke up and decided she needed some tunes.  This also serves as a reminder that we need to, once again, drop her mattress down.

Look at those muscles!

Baby Nike shoes we bought dirt cheap and waited for her to grow into.

Hold my calls!
And his desk

Sending her to District 15 (McAllen) as outgoing mail.

Monkeying Around at the Zoo (An old post)

This post was supposed to be done in May but it stayed as a draft.  Oops!

We enjoyed a rare cool day in May by going to the zoo.  Anticipating others would have the same idea we arrived early and were rewarded with lively animals.  Here are some of the best photos...

From San Antonio to Valentina

When my mom and sister were in San Antonio I asked them to see if there were any Mexican dresses for Valentina at El Mercado.  They sent two up and she was able to fit into the green lime one this weekend.  She looked so adorable we had to take some photos.

If we have the camera and Valentina outside someone wants to be there too but she doesn't cooperate very often.

Election Day

It took Marc Korman to get Adrian engaged in politics. (Ha!) The Tamezs fully support Marc. Unfortunately we don't live in Maryland to vote for him but we'll try to convince others.

Getting well rested for today.

Supporting Marc Korman

A Visit to the Dentist

Yesterday the whole family visited the dentist but Valentina was the luckiest one of us all. All she did was play with toothbrushes and show off her pearly whites. Akira by far had it the worst. She is still loopy this morning.

Deep thoughts and gymnastics during dinner.

Week o' Birthdays

This has been one fun week for birthdays. We celebrated Luke on Wednesday, Auntie Laura yesterday and Tia Rebecca today. I often watch or read baking things and wonder if I can do it so today I tried. With some instruction and help from the Chef I decorated this.

We had some pool time and Valentina took a spin in Harrison's car.

Cole especially loved the cake.

I forgot to post this yesterday but someone is really shedding right now. Look at all the hair we brushed off her. How is she not bald?

Swimming and celebrating 50

I always love looking at Valentina's feet when she's eating. This morning if was a pointy toe day. Getting ready for ballet?

Today Valentina started her second installment of swim class. We both are able to get in the pool with Valentina in this class so we prefer it and had some good family fun. We also learned that Old Macdonald has a pond with a fish, a duck and a beaver.

Today was also Auntie Laura's Hawaii 5-0 birthday party. Adrian made her cake and we made sure to remind her of her age as much as we could. Happy Birthday Auntie!
