Valentina is following in Daddy's footsteps and will soon be cooking things up in the kitchen. Akira is a good sport.

Valentina has two costumes for her first Halloween. This is a dangerous precedent, but we won't worry about that until we need to. Stay tuned for pics of costume #2. 

Red Sox Win

As a kid I became a fan of the Red Sox because they were always shown on tv. When the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, I was working on the Kerry campaign in Colorado. Our old school big screen tv stopped working in the middle of the game so we ran back and forth to the bar down the street to watch the game. Today I was feeding my little one and trying to get her to bed. She's already a sports fan because she refused to go to sleep until the game was over.

Those clichés are true

Parents always tell us to enjoy every moment because before you realize it, your infant is a teenager. Valentina is many, many, many years away from being a teenager but we are starting to understand how quickly babies grow.

This weekend we had to store Little Miss V's 0-3 month clothes and yesterday she wouldnt move her little hands away from her bottle. Our baby is a few days shy of three months but now weighs 12 lbs and is 23 inches long. 

She is definitely not amused but inquiring minds wanted to know how tall she was.

12 Weeks

Valentina spent her 12 week birthday weekend by going to work with Mommy for a few hours Friday, going to the White House Garden tour and shopping Saturday and observing Mommy and Daddy attempt to organize her room Sunday. It was bittersweet cleaning out her closet because she's grown so much in such a short time, but we saved her clothes in case we are blessed with another baby girl in the future.

Milestones

It is fascinating to watch Little Miss V discover new things. Today she found her thumb and learned how to make the toys on her bouncer make noise.

My thumb is so much easier to suck than my fist.

Who's bigger?

Tonight we went to our favorite grocery store Whole Foods. We told Valentina her college fund was at risk the minute we walked in but she didn't seem to mind.  Once we spotted this jewel Daddy decided to make cauliflower mashers tomorrow.

Pumpkin Patch Weekend

It has become a family tradition to pick and carve pumpkins.  This year, however, we are excited to take our little pumpkin to the pumpkin patch.  Stay tuned for pictures of our pumpkins once they're carved.

Today we enjoyed brunch at Miguelito's restaurant, Acre 121, to wish our friend Sophie farewell. Many of Patricia's former Cong. Gonzalez coworkers were there as Little Miss Valentina had her first brunch experience.
