Wheaton Regional Park

One of my greatest joys is making my friends drive outside their usual 5 square miles and explore new areas.  This Sunday the plan was for all of us to take the kids to the Wheaton Regional Park.  Unfortunately Kerry got sick, so the Petersons weren't able to join us, but we did some advance work in preparation of our group trip.  It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to go back.

Pool Party

Pool time at the Kormans has become a nearly every weekend tradition since the weather got really warm (and Marc won his primary election). Today we enjoyed the near perfect weather with pool, hamburgers and hotdogs, veggies and lots on laughs.

We tried so hard to get a group shot of the kiddos. Instead we got these.

Happy 4th of July

As kids Adrian and I both have fond memories of starting our Fourth of July festivities with the parade in downtown Mcallen. We wanted to do something similar with Valentina so we went to a parade a few towns over and cheered for floats of veterans, marching bands and lots of fire trucks. In the afternoon and evening Adrian bbq'ed and we were joined by our friends and neighbors Chris, Julia and ESPN. We finished the evening by going to the top of the neighborhood to see the DC fireworks from a distance.

Akira's Bed is Comfy

The ability for Valentina to move has really changed her and Akira's relationship. In the morning and during any mealtime Akira especially loves the baby. When she tries to take over her bed she likes her and is nice but I'm sure she wishes she was less mobile.

A big grin

She loves to hug Daddy's head

Family reading time is fun. This evening we read one of our favorites - The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

It's never too early to play dress up

Last week I purchased some play clothes for Valentina from another mom and it included a Cinderella dress. We decided it was time to bring out the pop up castle her Tia Melissa bought her and let V do some pretend play.

The Princess and her castle

It will be a long time from now when she gets to wear those boots but she already likes them.

She may dress like a princess but etiquette, especially at the table, is a work in progress.
